What Opcilo proves on the verification card

The public verification card answers a few specific questions — and refuses others. This guide names what Document integrity, Issuer Verified, Identity, Signature, and the Trust Badge do and do not mean.

The verify card in plain English

Anyone can open a seal on Verify without an account. The card reports a small set of product terms — the same language used across the site and Learn glossary.

Document integrity

Document integrity means the sealed file bytes match the record Opcilo stored when the document was sealed. When verify shows integrity as Verified, you are looking at that sealed record — not a swapped attachment that failed the check.

Issuer Verified (business verification only)

Issuer Verified means the issuer workspace completed business verification — Know Your Business (KYB), a check that the organization is a real business. An email-verified account is not Issuer Verified. Recipients can treat Issuer Verified as a stronger issuer accountability signal — not a verdict that every sentence in the file is true.

Identity and Signature: Not checked

Two fields stay honest about what we do not run today:

  • Identity Not checked — person identity verification is not available as a product claim.
  • Signature Not checked — Opcilo does not validate a cryptographic signature of the uploader or signer. Preserving a signed PDF is not the same as Signature Verified.

Trust Badge limits

A Trust Badge is a visual and public-profile signal that the issuer is Issuer Verified after business verification. It is not a verdict on document truth, not Identity Verified, and not a substitute for reading the integrity result.

Frequently asked questions

Does Document integrity mean the content is true?

No. Document integrity means the sealed bytes match the stored record. Opcilo does not prove every statement in the document is true.

Is email verification the same as Issuer Verified?

No. Issuer Verified requires business verification (Know Your Business, or KYB). Email-verified accounts are a weaker signal and are not Issuer Verified.

Can I get Identity Verified or Signature Verified today?

No. Identity is Not checked and Signature is Not checked. Do not market either as available.
